As a customer its important to understand that the 'set up costs' for a window tinter are relatively low - a roll of film - a phone and off you go!! - However, to have the experience to know which film to use for which car or
window takes years of experience to fine tune. In addition, most start ups usually go for the mobile shop option as it cuts their running costs to virtually nothing - but the quality of a mobile installation will simply
not match that provided by a window tinter who applies the films within a 'sterile' workshop environment.
Our installation process is based upon over 14 years of experience, which ensures that customers are not only benefitting from the high quality films we use, but also
a professional and guaranteed installation process.
For cars, our dust-free workshop is based in Telford, and allows us to install avoiding dust, hairs and other floating objects - or even flying ones! from getting between the film and the glass.
For domestic and commercial tinting - given that most buidlings are not mobile - we travel within Shropshire and the West Midlands to give you a superior window tinting service.
When preparing the glass for tinting, unlike a number of companies who take short cuts by using household cleaning agents to 'degrease' a glass pane - Shropshiretints ONLY use the manufacturer
recommended cleaning agents to prepare the area to tint. This might seem like a small thing - and we could save a few pounds by taking the short cut - but for us the guarantee that your tint will not
bubble, crack or peel is only achievable by not taking short cuts....
For cars - one of the most common tricks that the budget tinters use is to cut up to the rubber seals - or push them back with a plastic tool to insert the film just behind the edge of the rubber. Whilst you may save a few pounds
on the price - the tinter who offers this type of service does so knowing that he will not spend anywhere near as much time - and provide nowhere near the quality of service provided by companies such as
Shropshiretints - who remove seals, door panels, speaker units and any other obstacle in order to ensure the film is adhered to the total surface.
Some customers come to us asking why this is necessary - given they have just been quoted a lower price by a guy who will come to his house and do it. Apart from the fact that tinting on a drive allows airborn particles
to come between the glass and the film - not removing the e.g. rubber seals is another example of a short cut that we do not believe is in the interest of the customer. Window rubbers in particular are needed to be smooth to a surface to
prevent water coming between them and the glass. Shoving objects between a seal and a glass window for prolonged periods can damage this tight seal - allowing water to enter - which in turn increases the risk of the film peeling at a later date
(not to mention the need to replace the rubbers to stop water intrusion). In addition, if a car manufacturer can show that the seals are damaged due to the activity of your window tinter - you can kiss goodbye to your warranty from them as well....
Cars are tinted in a dust free workshop not only to prevent particles getting inbetween the glass and film - but also to ensure that is a job takes longer than anticipated - the car can be left overnight in a secure environment ready to be finished the following day. We are never quite sure at
what point a mobile window tinter works out that they are going to have to rush a job to finish it before the pubs open - or what they do when the heavens open without warning - but these are not things a Shropshiretints customer has to worry about. We do not cut corners to finish a job - but by having a
predicable workshop environment - we are able to focus on the job - and not the clock or the weather!!
